There seem to be vast differences in milk consumption among European countries, and if you live in one of the countries shown below, I would very much like to hear your opinion as to why it is so in the comments.

The map is based on data compiled by Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. The figures are for the year 2011 (the latest available on the website as of 2014). The figures include milk consumed in the form of cheese and other dairy products with the exception of butter.
