The Eastern Alps are part of the Alps, the highest and most extensive mountain range system in Europe. The Eastern Alps include parts of Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany (Bavaria), Slovenia, and Liechtenstein.

The map below shows the percentage of land covered by tree canopy in the Eastern Alps, based on data by the U.S. Geological Survey from 2010. I have also published the corresponding map of the Western Alps.
